Choosing the right laboratory rack
Freezer racks
Modular vertical freezer racks make full use of the height of a -80 °C freezer and let you pull a single box without disturbing the rest. Choose a format that matches your box footprint and your freezer's internal dimensions.
Grid racks
Grid racks hold tubes upright during pipetting, capping and transport. They are supplied in bulk quantities for labs that process large sample volumes and need spare capacity on the bench.
Tube Racks
Tube racks are matched to a specific tube diameter and height. Check the well count and the tube format before ordering; a rack that fits 1.40 ml tubes will not hold 5 ml or 6 ml formats.
Pre-racked tubes
Pre-racked formats combine tubes and rack in one item: the tubes arrive capped and seated in a 96-well or 24-well rack, ready to go straight into storage. This removes a handling step and reduces the risk of mix-ups during sample intake.
Micronic is the main supplier for these formats in our range, with 96-2, 96-4 and 24-4 racks in 0.75 ml, 1.40 ml and 6 ml tube sizes.
