A complete push cap tube system

Most suppliers sell you tubes and leave the rest to you. Novitain covers the whole chain around a single format — 1.40 ml U-bottom push cap tubes — so the caps, the capping equipment and the racks are guaranteed to fit each other. That removes the most common source of frustration in sample storage: components that almost match.

Tubes

All tubes are 1.40 ml U-bottom, available non-coded or with an alphanumeric side code for sample identification. Delivery formats cover every workflow: loose in bulk, in refill carriers of 96, in disposable carriers, pre-loaded in grid racks, and in case quantities for high-throughput labs.

Caps

Push caps come in several formats depending on how you close a rack. Capclusters seal a full rack in one movement; peel off the foil backing afterwards and each tube is individually capped. Capmats and capbands cover a rack as a single sheet or strip. Loose TPE caps are available in bulk for individual tubes.

TPE capclusters are multi-pierceable without losing seal integrity, so a rack can be sampled more than once. TPE caps in Natural are made from medical-approved material carrying a USP Class VI certificate. EVA capmats resist chemical solvents and comply with US and European food contact regulations.

Capping equipment

The MC1 and MC2 are manual cappers; the MC3 is electric. The MC3 operates without any buttons: pull out the drawer, place a rack of filled tubes on it, lay a capmat, capband or capcluster on top, and close. A manual decapper is available for opening racks again, and adapters let the MC1 handle different rack formats.

Racks

Grid racks hold tubes upright during handling and are supplied in case quantities, including a 50-well version. Modular vertical freezer racks organise boxes inside a freezer and make full use of its height.

How Novitain labware is made

Novitain manufactures and assembles in-house in a cleanroom certified to ISO14644-1 Class7. Labware is free of any detectable RNase or DNase contamination and endotoxin levels are held to a controlled minimum. For molecular work and clinical sample storage, that is the difference between a consumable you can trust and one you have to validate yourself.
