The Geneye MiMixer is a thermoshaker for researchers who need to shake and heat biological samples at the same time, in a footprint that still fits on a crowded bench. It covers DNA and RNA preparation, protein extraction, enzymatic reactions and homogenization from a single instrument.

Heating is quick: the MiMixer takes about 12 minutes to go from 25 °C to 100 °C, and holds an even temperature across the block, so samples at the edge behave like samples in the middle. Shaking runs from 200 to 1,800 rpm with a 3 mm orbit.

The MiMixer is designed around two things: the quality of the result and how quickly someone can operate it. All functions run from the panel on the front, progress is shown on the LCD, and stored protocols mean a recurring method does not have to be dialled in again each time.
